Lawn and Landscape Crew Leader

Job Hours & Duration:  Normal hours will be Monday-Friday 7:45 – 4:45 with a few chances of working on weekends if rain or other delays occur.  Job duration is from now until the end of October, with possibilities of longer employment.

Job Overview:  Crew leader will  lead a two person lawn care crew, and is responsible for completing and overseeing weekly mowings for residential properties.   Leader will also be called on to assist with landscape projects and other projects associated with Lawn Care.  

Duties and Responsibilities:  Crew leader is responsible for completion of daily mowing schedules.  This includes equipment preparation before leaving, traveling to and from residential properties, lawn mowing, trimming, edging, and cleanups at each location, disposing of clippings, dog waste and other debris.  The crew leader will also be responsible to ensure mowing quality at each location, staying on schedule and is also responsible to keep track of equipment use, problems or symptoms.  Crew leader will also perform landscaping maintenance and installations on non mowing days.  This will include but it not limited to sod installation, rock installation, leaf collection, general yard cleanups, mulch installation, sprinkler repair and general maintenance.    

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:  Applicants for crew leader position must be 18 years of age and have a clean driving record.  Qualified applicants will have 1 year experience in operation of commercial lawn mowing equipment, be proficient with weed eaters, trimmers and blowers and have a general knowledge of equipment.  Familiarity with Southwest Denver (Highlands Ranch, Littleton) is preferred but not required.  Crew leader will be responsible for traveling with truck and trailer to different locations and should be comfortable driving a full size truck with trailer, including backing the trailer.  Applicants should be self motivated, task oriented and detail oriented.    

Credentials and Experience:  Experience is preferred but not necessary.  We will provide training on all equipment.  Prior mowing experience including use of 21” walk behind mowers, weed eaters, and blowers is preferred.  Experience with larger walk behind commercial mowers also a plus. 

Special Requirements:  Applicants will be working outside for the majority of the day and must be able to withstand the summer heat as well as rain and other elements.  Applicants with allergies may have difficulty due to the nature of work.  Daily work is very strenuous so you must be in good health and able to lift 75 pounds. 

Salary:  Pay rate ranges from $10/hr to $13/hr depending on experience and level of proficiency.
